"Fast Track to Animation" art show
from 18th to 28th July, some of my works as CGMA student will be showcased side by side with other students and instructors artworks at Center Stage Gallery in Burbank LA, during the launch event of the movie Turbo.
Some great Dreamworks artists will be there for book signing and demos!
for more infos and a list of the artists that will attend the event go here.
i live too far away to be there but for anyone in the area i think it is a great opportunity to see some cool arts and meet some of the finest artists in the animation industry. ^^

a sandwich of books!
textures here helped a lot getting all the different kinds of materials.
i wanted to contrast the pant-ish rendering leaving some linework around the dragon, the glasses are not even painted while the eyebrows are practically floating...

again, Nate Wragg's style simplicity and effectiveness keeps inspiring me lots.

| here is the plain drawing. just a black rough sketch with a color above it. |

| selecting "drop shadow" from the fx panel... |
![]() |
| ... i add a small sharp shadow to make the blue spot look like a paper cut. |
![]() |
| with FILTER>BRUSH STROKE>SPATTER i add some randomness to linework and edges. (you have to flatten the image to make this effect work properly) |
![]() |
| with FILTER>ARTISTIC>ROUGH PASTELS i add some paper texture and pastel melting (again, the image need to be flatten to make it work as above) |

| finally i add one of my fav paper textures in normal mode around 20%. and here it is, done! =) |
